Laughing Gas! What A Blast!

Are you apprehensive about having dental treatment done?  If you answered yes, you are in the majority!  One method of "relaxation" we offer in our office is Nitrous Oxide, more commonly known as "laughing gas".  Does it actually make people laugh?  Sometimes it does.  But most patients who use laughing gas feel a sense of calm and relaxation, and it's safe for both adults and children.

The gas is administered with a comfortable mask placed over the nose, and you breathe in through the nose and out through your mouth.  After the treatment is completed, you're given pure oxygen to breathe for about five minutes, and all the effects of sedation are reversed. Unlike IV sedation or general anesthesia, you can leave the office by yourself, without an escort.

I am a dental phobic!  I know first hand how awesome the use of laughing gas is during dental treatment.  I recommend it to everyone that experiences even the slightest bit of anxiety about having dental work done.  With all the different methods of relaxation to choose from in dental offices today, there is no reason to put off dental treatment due to anxiety.  Postponing treatment only allows decay to get deeper, and the cost to go higher.

Speaking of cost, the fee for laughing gas in our office is zero, zip, nada, nothing!

I love this commercial;

      Cost of emergency dental visit?  $150.00
      Cost of gas to get you to dental appointment? $3.50 a gallon
      Breathing laughing gas so the first two items don't stress you out?  PRICELESS

Financing Dental Work During a Tough Economy

Cavities, broken teeth, tooth aches, etc. These are things that plague us sometimes, regardless of the health of our pocketbook. If you have dental insurance to help cover part of your costs, you still have to pay for a percentage of your treatment on your own. Some elect to forgo the cost of dental insurance, choosing to pay for treatment straight out of their pocket.

We offer our patients a great option for financing their dental treatment through a company called *Care Credit. All balances small and large qualify for 6 monthly payments with no interest. Some balances can be paid out up to 18 months with no interest, or extended finance options are available up to 60 months. You can begin treatment immediately, and when your in pain that's all that counts.

When your in pain, don't wait it out....pay it out!!

For more information on financing your dental treatment, visit us at www.BrazosFamilyDentistry.com or apply for financing at www.CareCredit.com .

 *CareCredit Deferred Interest if Paid in Full plans charge no interest when accountholders make their required minimum monthly payment and pay the balance in full within the promotional period. Otherwise, interest accrues from the purchase date.

Why Lumineers Were For Me

I think the first thing I should mention in this blog is why I wanted a new smile.  When I was about 7 years old, I went over the handle bars of my tricycle and thank goodness my 2 front teeth broke my fall.  Well actually, they broke.   So for almost my entire life, I have lived with fillings in my two front teeth.  Through no fault of any dentist, my fillings would chip off all the time from the wear and tear I put them through.   Unfortunately, they were just fillings and well, that’s what they do when they’re on your front teeth.  I am so afraid of needles, the thought of having my fillings replaced with crowns terrified me.  So what did I do?  I lived with my 2 front teeth the way they were.   And wouldn’t you know, as we get older our teeth naturally darken.  So I was not only faced with teeth that chipped off constantly, but my natural tooth surface and the color of my old fillings didn’t match anymore!

What’s a girl to do?

Dr. Russell Ross at Brazos Family Dentistry in Waco, TX decided to start offering our patients this awesome new treatment called Lumineers.  I could not believe what I was seeing……No Shots, no sensitivity, and all they had to do to get me started was take a mold of my teeth.  Wow, that’s it??  So I went from chipped and discolored teeth to a beautiful new smile.  I can’t say enough the change it’s made in how I feel about myself.  I now smile when I talk to people!  I don’t think I ever did much of that before my Lumineers.

I can say without a doubt I’m a fan of Lumineers.  They changed my life!
